These are banknotes made by the Japanese during their occupation of Malaya during World War II. You can tell they are authentic by the blue and red threads you see running through them. Most of these bills were made for and used in Malaya during the occupation. A large cache of them, from which these came, were stored away in perfect, unused condition. It was little-known then, but Japan and Germany had signed a mutual agreement to divide the United States up between them when they won the war. Many people thought that this bill was the prototype that the Japanese hoped to use right here in the US when that happened. When they were driven out of Malaya these unused, uncirculated bills were found. These are a unique memento of history, and they are becoming scarcer and more valuable every day
